Life has been psychotic.

I did the costumes and makeup for "Bitten"- that being the Binghamton University Circus Arts Association's Halloween play/spectacle/extravaganza thing. The show was awesome; everyone did such a spectacular job! It was a huge hit with the audience and what's more, there were only five empty seats in the house and there were people sitting in the aisles. Yayyyyy!!!!

The costumes were simple, but cool. Cat and I dyed canvas in different colors and sewed it onto tshirts in designs representing water, fire, and air. We dyed undershirts for the fight scenes. I made a pair of "transformation pants" to go over Edwin's stilts, and while they weren't perfect, they weren't bad... especially considering that this was the first time I've made a pair of pants in my life!

Quinn and Tom came down to see the show. Quinn debuted his Pyramid Head cosplay, which was a hit with everyone who saw it. He got so many looks and points and OMGS! as he walked across campus- everyone was so impressed. Tom was also a hit in his "ninja pretending to be a pirate" outfit. Heeeee. Yosra and I wore saris for our bollywood theme. I got accused of dressing as Betsy Ross by a fratboy giving drive-by costume critiques.

Yay Halloween!!!

Nothing going on here; everyone's flown home for Yom Kippur. I'm all alone. Just me and my internets. Which is just as well, considering that I'm not feeling that great and the peace and quiet is nice.

I also have a ton of work to do, so I can get going on that.

I've got two of the t-shirts sewn for the CA show; all that's left to do is add the paint and sequin details. Mark's shirt still has to get done, though, but I can't do that until we do the red dyebath, which won't be until Reyna gets her skirt ordered. I hope she gets it over the next couple of days, cause I'd like to get going with it. The show is only a couple of weeks away and I've still got a paper and a midterm to deal with.

And after that? COSPLAY TIME!!!

Dad's given me a corner of the office to use as my own costume shop, which is great- I can have a clean, controlled area to work in... no greasy tables that are used to eat off of, no crumbs, no people to move things and disturb them, and a large space so I can do large-scale costuming. There's even a space out back where we can do all kinds of messy paint work and not have to worry about stupid things like paint droplets in carpet or whatever.

I wound up taking two Benadryl last night because I had this headache that just would. not. leave. As a result of this, my head no longer hurts but I lack the energy to do anything at all. So far I've gone to the dining hall, and I'm wiped out.

Obviously, skipping Circus Arts. I'm tired and loopy enough that a) I don't have the energy to lift my arms over my head, and if I did, I'd b) give myself a concussion with the poi. This kind of sucks, as it's the last meeting of the semester.

Gotta study Latin anyway, dammit. Final's on Tuesday.

Also have to get everything together for con. We have to buy our tickets online by the 16th, or wait and buy them when we get there. That's not too much of a problem, but who the hell wants to wait on line in the cold? Suckage.

I'm pretty excited about what I'm doing. I'll post pictures when it's done and also WIP pics; I'm going to leave it as a suprise till then, though. All I'll say for right now is that it involves some welding and a good bit of actual engineering, and that it will trump any ----------s that happen to be floating around in the cosplay world.
