I think I need to find a new mood theme.
Jan. 28th, 2005 11:10 amIf anyone wants to do a custom one for me, I'll buy you two months of LJ time and 50 icons. ...But I get to pick out the pictures.
Guess who got the highest grade in the class on the first criminal justice quiz.
Know the due process model like the back of my hand. Go me.
...So, any takers on the mood theme thing?
I heart my icon to absoulute death. Death, death, death, I tell you. Anyway, here are the original lyrics (in Sindarin) of the song. The song, incidentally, is "The Evening Star" from "Twilight and Shadow" which you can find on the Return of the King soundtrack.
Ngîl cennin eriel vi
Menel aduial,
Glingant sui vîr
Síliel mae.
Ngîl cennin firiel vi
Menel aduial,
Dúr, dúr i fuin
Naenol mae.
An i ú nathant
An i naun ului
A chuil, anann cuiannen
A meleth, perónen
English translation:
I saw a star rise high in the
Evening sky,
It hung like a jewel,
Softly shining.
I saw a star fade in the
Evening sky,
The dark was too deep and so light died,
Softly pining.
For what might have been,
For what never was.
For a life, long lived
For a love half given
The words on the icon are bolded. The icon itself is from the Now Infamous Interrogation Room Scene in the Butterflied episode of CSI. The song just seemed to match that episode; Sara wants Grissom and will wait for him, Grissom wants Sara but isn't going to act on it, for whatever reason. ("Arwen... I don't know what to do about this...") Either way, he's going to go off and flirt with Sofia for a while, and then he's going to wind up back with Sara. Or that's what I predict. ANYWAY. The song is on the icon because it talks about a "came close, but missed" type of situation. And that's what GS is, really.
I'm rambling now. The point is, I love my icon. *snuggles it*
