I. Intensely. Dislike. Stupid. People.
La la la la. Here is a poem I wrote. It's copyrighted, so don't think of stealing it, but if you did think of stealing it, I can read your mind, and I'm on my way to your house right now to kill you when you sleep with my great-grandmother's pineapple machete.
(Did that sound tough????)
It isn’t always enough
To be able to pluck words from air currents,
Like oranges, in the skilled hands of California’s migrant workers-
“Bars of sunlight, thick enough to cut with a knife,”
Means nothing when backed with clear nail polish
And not the silver of mirrors.
Likewise, the word “sorry” falls short of the mark
When thrown across that vast dark chasm
That lies between us
(The brooding product of years of foolish mistakes)
It only takes a moment of caffeine-induced clarity
To realize the only query is this:
“If half of one equals all of the other,
then is truth really the living constellation it appears to be?”
Paradoxically, I find that the question
Isn’t as irreverent
As the answer.
