Court gowns. *dies*

To my various Court ladies: you're looking at your formal uniforms right there. Because I am the Queen and I say so. Plus they're reeeeeal pretty! More info on them and their hierarchies can be found here.

... I've just spent three hours that I could have been doing something constructive (emailing Miss Cam, Vampire stuff, writing, whatever) researching and planning a Russian court costume that I really, really want but will never have the time, resources, or reason to make. Seriously, even if I had one of those gowns- where the hell do you wear something like that?

Anyone who wants to go in on it with me, though- we can stage a Russian Court Gown revolution and take over Formal Night at the Met or something. Any takers?




I need to get my brain the fuck out of Imperial Russia.

Aren't they, though? And they cost fucking fortunes. GAH. I still absolutely covet one, though. I wonder what the underwear is like for those things.
