Remember the princess who ran away with the marine?

Turns out they got a divorce. This is odd only because I was thinking about this whole thing about a week ago. Just "wow, I wonder what happened to them" type of thoughts, but still. Craziness.

You know, this whole thing (such as it is) went down in Vegas. Wouldn't it be crazy if they based a CSI episode on it?

Sara and Grissom investigate the murder of a runaway princess; Catherine, Warrick and Nick find a box of human feet floating in Lake Mead. Meanwhile, Greg shadows Sofia as she works a break-in in a piano factory.

My brain is fried.

Woooow, that's trippy. I'd never even heard of them before just now. It's kinda sad that he screwed up his career for her and then got divorced five years later...

Yeah. It was pretty fucked up. When it first came out, I was like oh my god. That's incredible.

It went to hell for both of them. He got court martialed, she probably won't be able to go back. Who knows, though.

Yeah, it is pretty fucked up. I mean, if her family sent a hitman after her, what makes you think they'll welcome her home with open arms when the marriage fails? I wonder if she'll get to stay in the US if the documents used to get her there were forged...

I think they did give her asylum in the end, and at any rate she's legally a US citizen since they were married. I don't think she loses it because they get a divorce. Hmmm- not sure on that. But if she did go back- christ, they'd probably kill her. Even if she asked for forgivness and all that. Eck.
