~ Mmm. Maggots. The breakfast of Grissom champions.

~ You can never have too much bondage. Ever.
(WTF is up with the bondage theme on this show? Are the producers trying to tell us something? Not that I'm complaining, mind you.)

~ Ooh. More Dom/Sub stuff. Kinky. I love when they get all scarily psychological.

~ Poor Grissom. All of his serial killers wind up killing themselves.

~ Note to Grissom: When you give someone CPR, you're supposed to do more than pound on their chest like a big idiot. Kthnxbai.

~ Note to Catherine: Stop being such a bitch to my girl. Kthnkxbai.

~ Loved the use of comic art. I also liked how the killer guy was so up front during the confession scene- and the whole answering machine thing. Hee. Although the last drawing kind of creeped me out. It reminded me of those back-page fold up drawings in MAD Magazine.

~ HA HA HA HA Nick. We know what you do on your nights off.

~ That crack that the boutique guy made to Grissom about liking leather was fucking priceless.

~ Hello, producers? We like Warrick. He should have more to do.

~ Heart the woodchipper guy. (Also hear the crime scene cleanup guy from last week or whenever.)

...Okay. There are a bunch of reoccuring themes on this show, but I think the Dom/Sub and bondage thing are the most prominent. That and butterflies. I would love to do some sort of psychology paper on that. What do S&M and butterflies have in common? Does Grissom have issues with controlling something intangible, like beauty or something? Something that drives him to put butterflies under glass and tie up his girlfriends. Would he freak out if Sara started to collect butterflies like him and Debbie? Or, like Grissom and Debbie, is there some bizzare parallel between Lurie and Sara? Questions, questions.

I have long bus rides. And "No Leaf Clover" by Metallica is the essence of fight music for me, almost more so than the Opera Babes' cover of "O Fortuna." Mix the two with my CSI obsession, and you get some pretty fucked up fanfic-ish ideas.

My personal favorite is what I call the Doomsday Scenario. For whatever reason, the team is put in a battle situation with everything riding on the line (similar to that of Aragorn and the Army of the West marching on the Gates of Mordor or, in a smaller way, Helm's Deep.) Guns, again for whatever reason, don't work, so they have to use manual weapons. I was thinking today about what kinds of weapons they would use. Here's my thoughts on this.

Grissom- Katana. That's it. He'd have a Hattori Hanzo sword, made for him personally, that's sharp enough to cut God (should he meet him.) It's sleek, streamlined, elegant, and oddly merciful (katanas slice; it's a clean cut as opposed to, say, bludgeoning someone with a big hammer.) It's honorable and all that, and you can tell he's the type of man who would bond with his sword. He'd give it a name and get all philosophical before beheading someone. (blah blah blah honor blah blah blah.)

Catherine- Heavy artillery. Lol. Actually, I can see her with a bow and arrow or a crossbow. Something that would put some distance between her and her assailant so she could better protect Lindsey. I can see her covering the rest of the team from up on a parapet or something. However, I can see her using a battle axe in close combat. Or two small battle axes. I have no idea why. She just seems like that type.

Nick and Warrick- These guys don't get separate paragraphs because they'd both get broadswords. Grr. Manly. Ugh, thump, drag, you Jane, me Tarzan. Yeah, maybe I'm selling them short, but can you blame me? I love Warrick and Nick to pieces, but they'd be Faramir and Eomer to Grissom's Aragorn. Flanking either side of him and looking threatening, and breaking away to kick some serious ass with their big, bad swords.

Sara- I guess the obvious weapon for Sara would be butterfly swords. Or maybe that's just me being a smart-ass. ;) However, they're a little bit too bulky looking for her. Not that she couldn't handle them, but that she wouldn't like the way they looked and would turn her nose up at them. Ergo, I could see her with kamas. Up close, personal, and nasty. Very, very dangerous. I can see her loving these because she gets to get up in someone's face as she disembowls them.

Greg- Nunchucku. Cowabunga, dude. *rolls eyes* Seriously, I can see him wanting them because Michelangelo the Ninja Turtle had them. Other than that, I'd give him a katana too. Because he idolizes Grissom and all that, and Grissom would take him on as an apprentice type. And then Greg would have to avenge Grissom's death using his sword. Lol. Angsty CSI:Ninja.

I need a life. Gah.

Yeah, non-realistic CPR on TV shows/movies is one of my most common nitpicks. But then I suppose there's a reason for the lack of authenticity--namely that doing chest compressions on a live person can seriously fuck up their heart (not to mention their ribcage). And I suppose it was supposed to be a testament to Grissom's frantic desire to have this guy live and see justice.

But yeah, how hard would it be to replace the actor with a CPR dummy dressed in the same clothes, considering we didn't really see his face when Grissom was doing CPR?

It reminded me of those back-page fold up drawings in MAD Magazine.

That's exactly what I thought of when I saw it. :-)

almost more so than the Opera Babes' cover of "O Fortuna."

::jawdrop:: I must find this file. I love "O Fortuna".

I love Warrick and Nick to pieces, but they'd be Faramir and Eomer to Grissom's Aragorn.

::falls over laughing:: Dude, that is so fucking true. And the mental images that that inspires...

And then Greg would have to avenge Grissom's death using his sword.

No, I'm not in denial or anything. :-)

LOLOLOLOL

... I think this thread calls for stick figure pictures.

Or bad, Paint-type 'comics.'

Oh, and the "O fortuna" song can be seen in a fan version of the ROTK trailer, which is where I fell in love with it (it's a better trailer than the real one, in my opinion.)
