Not a great start to Thursday
Jul. 29th, 2010 07:44 amI have to figure out a way to keep the cats away from me while I sleep. Vala will sleep with me through the night, but Freya is nocturnal and she'll lick my face, chew my fingers, and knead my neck and arms with her little claws all night long. Once the birds start chirping, Vala is trying to get me up so I will feed her by licking and biting my eyes and knocking my cell phone off the table (she knows it doubles as my alarm clock, and when she does that it drives me NUTS.)
Today I've gotten six hours of bad sleep, and I'm probably going to be showing all day (they moved me from legal to rental. I'm not too much of a fan of this, but whatever.) Once Dave comes on next week to be rental agent full time, I'll be back to my normal schedule of office work from noon to 4:30, and then showing apartments evenings and Saturdays. I will be happier once this happens.
Also, attempts to get into grad school proceed apace. I had my GRE scores sent over yesterday, and paid my application fee. All I have to do now is mail in my statement of purpose, CV, and figure out what's up with my recommendation letters- ugh. This is a little too last minute for comfort for me, but Karen (my advisor) is right- it would be dumb to take a year off now.
Alas for my year off and doing all the stuff I wanted to do. Woe.
