nirix5: (geek sense tingling!)
I am now a proud member of The David Hodges Experience.

Because snark is love.

Update: Still hot. Andy, it turns out, is now the proud owner of an air conditioner which keeps his room at a pleasant 63 degrees, damn him.

It's so hot my fingers are sticking to the keys. Ew.

Yesterday (post-previous entry) I went back home from OCC. After eating some food and brushing my teeth I felt a little bit better, and decided to go to Vampire after all.

Now. Vampire is every Friday at Fairmount Community Church. I usually get a ride with Tim but because of crazed scheduling on my part, I couldn't yesterday. So I decided to take a bus. Asked Tim what street the church is on- he says it's at West Genessee and W- something or other. Right! I can totally do this.

I go downtown and ask the information lady which bus I take. She says the 78, because it goes up West Genessee Street. However, she neglected to tell me that the damn bus turns after Westvale Plaza. The bus driver was the one who told me this. He very nicely gave me a transfer to catch the Camillus bus- the one that would pass me later on- which is the one I should have taken, and I started walking.

The church can't possibly be that far away. Right? Right?

No. So very, very wrong.

I started to get nervous when I saw Wal Mart in the distance. I'm like, Oh, fuck. I totally thought it was before Wal Mart. Keep in mind, it's three miles from Westvale to Wal Mart. In nintey degree heat with high humidity. I was just about dead when I passed Wegmans. I decided to stop in to Wal Mart and talk to Quinn for a few minutes before resuming my trek.

Quinn's reaction: "Ohmigod, you're here! Omigod, your arm!"

(Yeah. It looks kind of bad, and people keep asking me what happened to it. Those Star Wars action figures, I tell ya. They just have it in for me.) But Quinn hadn't seen my arm since Tuesday or whenever it was, so he was like, whoa. He asked me what I was doing there, and I told him how I ended up walking. The look on his face got progressively more comical as I continued, and by the end he was staring at me open-mouthed, like I was some type of unbelievably precious idiot. Then he made me sit down for a while and let me drink some of his water. I wound up staying with him until he got off work, and then we walked up to the church together, which turned out to be another two blocks up the street.

Vampire was great. I'm starting to get the hang of this. There was a werewolf attack (I think. My character, luckily, is oblivious, so she can get away with not totally knowing what's going on unless she feels like it.) Morridin wound up being elected Prince, effectively kicking Dani's character out of office, even though she wasn't there. Ton Clau wound up torped in the trunk of a car. Two new Bruja showed up (Lopez and Scott- yay Lopez and Scott!) Helena (me) stole Xell's (Quinn's) book. There were cupcakes. There was lots of potato fun. Helena entered a crossbow tournament and lost horribly- shot in the shoulder, kneecap, and ass. Ouch. I love Vampire- it makes me happy.

Today was great. I just slept a lot. I think I needed sleep more than anything else, even though I missed a bunch of phone calls. And that's it, I guess.
