The strangest walk I ever took
Sep. 12th, 2002 11:17 pmI think the first mistake was opting to listen to the Interview with a Vampire soundtrack instead of something sensible, like LOTR or Jimmy Eat World.
Everything was deserted. I mean, even for stupid B'ville. Except for some stupid skateboarder, who came crashing out of the woods in the Grace Church parking lot and scared me senseless.
Walked back down the street towards the river. The only person was some creepy old woman on her front porch, surrounded by candles.
Cut across the lawn of the Bed and Breakfast next door. The whole place was dark. But I've never seen it dark before eleven, and this was around ten or so. Walked down to the river and there was this smell of garbage on the air, something I haven't smelled since the last time I passed the dump. Down by the river there were all these popping sounds... I took off the soundchecks cause I thought I was hearing things, but I wasn't. They were coming from way out on the water.
And then, on the way back, as I was walking up North Street, just as the music came to a crescendo, the three streetlights I had to go till the top of the street went out.
And when I got back, all the lights in my house and Donna's were out. She's another one who never turns out the lights.
What the hell is up?!?!?!?!
